Early on Saturday morning around 9 a.m., a heartbreaking accident occurred along Igbara-Odo Road in Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government, Ondo State. The incident involved a truck and a mini van carrying passengers from Akure, Ondo State, to Ekiti State.
The collision left the five passengers and the mini van driver severely injured. They were transported to General Hospital Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government, Ondo State, for medical attention. Unfortunately, a few minutes later, news reached the accident site that the driver of the mini van had died as a result of internal injuries and organ damage sustained during the crash.
Responding to the incident, the Ifedore police division inspected the accident scene and towed both vehicles involved to the station for further investigation. However, the truck driver was nowhere to be found, having fled the scene, avoiding the watchful eyes of angry driver's union personnel.
