The Plateau House of Assembly has granted Gov. Caleb Mutfwang's request for a loan of N15 billion to pay off the N11 billion in salary arrears owed by state employees.
While reading Mutfwang's proposal in plenary, Speaker Moses Sule stated that a portion of the loan would also be utilized to buy agricultural inputs for farmers in the state.
The 10th Plateau House of Assembly's first plenary meeting after its June 13inauguration saw the consent given.
Sule also read a different statement from the governor that aimed to rework the 2023 budget in order to take into account the current state of affairs.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), two executive measures were approved in first reading during the plenary.
A bill for a law to establish the Plateau State Citizens Mediation Center and for other things linked, 2023, as well as a bill for a law to establish the Plateau State Law Reform Commission are among the legislation.

Members urged the state administration to work with security organizations and traditional leaders on informed information collection to assist reduce the attacks' frequency.
They demanded that security organizations reassess their state-wide security procedures.
They requested the state government to instruct the State Emergency Management Agency to send aid to the victims and impacted towns.
