According to reports, Vincent Aboubakar's contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has been cancelled in order to make room for new acquisition Cristiano Ronaldo.
Clubs are only allowed to register eight foreign players in their teams, according Saudi League regulations.
According to RMC Sport, Aboubakar and Al-Nassr mutually agreed to end their contract, and he will get compensation. He's now a free agent and available to be signed by any club.
The club source stated that "Vincent Aboubakar's contract was cancelled by Al Nassr by mutual consent and he obtained all of his financial rights" Ronaldo was registered prior to Al Nassr's match against Al Ta'ee on Friday.
The representative stated that Aboubakar, 30, was now a free agent and could negotiate with any team but chose not to address rumours that he would be headed to Manchester United.
Ronaldo is now registered and qualified to play for Al-Nassr as a result of the departure of Aboubakar. The 37-year-old must first finish the suspension he received for throwing a cell phone out of hands of 14-years old child in November before he can start playing for his new squad.
Ronaldo watched from the stands as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Ta'ee 2-0 in the opening game of his two-game suspension.
The Portuguese player won't play against Al-Shabab on Saturday, either, but he will be able to make his Al-Nassr debut on January 22 in a home encounter.
