Joeboy responds Asa over N300m copyright claims - "you think say I be soft meat”

Joeboy, a.k.a. Joe Akinfenwa Donus, a Nigerian singer, has at last responded to the N300 million copyright infringement notice Asa slammed on him.

Asa, a French-Nigerian singer, sued Joeboy for unauthorized use of her material in his new single.

Asa charged Joeboy with violating her copyright by using her musical composition on his new song "Contour" without her consent in a notice of copyright infringement that her attorneys prepared and distributed on September 30.

Asa asserts in the lawsuit that she came up with the composition on September 22, 2020, while working with Tempoe, the producer of joeboy single "Coutour".

Asa ordered that the song be taken down from all digital platforms in 24 hours and that 300,000,000 naira in addition to a 60% publishing fee be paid.

Joeboy, on the other hand, responded to Asa on his Instagram story and called her out for offering him a 24-hour window that turned into a 48-hour period during which she did nothing.

He wrote:

“You said I have 24 hours; it’s been 48 hours already do something”

“cos I they always do love and light, you think say I be soft meat”
