Reactions as Nigerian lady commits suicide after her boyfriend allegedly used her money to marry another woman

Olaitan Adonis, a woman from Nigeria, committed suicide when Ola Saheed, her partner, allegedly used her money to fund the marriage of another woman.

Olaitan, who was in a committed relationship with the young man and had a son aged seven, was also putting money away in his bank account. But over the weekend, he married someone else using the money.

Olaitan was supposed to have taken a poison to end it all after hearing the news and being saddened by her lover's betrayer.

A source who requested anonymity remarked;

“I heard they were together last Thursday, September 8, they even spent the night together, but on Friday, a friend of hers told her the guy is getting married on Sunday, September 11. She was said to have consumed a poisonous substance and died the following day, Saturday, September 10.”

The deceased's employer, who also discussed the awful event, said:

"My salesgirl has been giving him money from my shop for upkeep, but he squandered the whole money. She even sent him N10k on Friday. After she ended it all, we called him and he said it’s none of his business.”

The awful incident has generate a lots of reactions on social media, at the same time her families and friends took to the same social media to mourn her death. 

Olaitan's alma mater published a memorial to her on Facebook along with a warning against suicide.
