In Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, a five-story structure that was under construction has collapsed.
According to information obtained, the building, which is thought to be a hotel, collapsed early on Thursday.
The structure is situated in Ibadan's Awosika neighbourhood.
The region lies near the Oyo State Government secretariat and is part of the Ibadan North Local Government Area.
No fewer than seven people, according to information received by our correspondent, are believed to have been saved from the building's wreckage.
At the time this report was being written, it was unknown if there had been any casualties.
Men from the State Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, and other security organisations have been dispatched to the location to form rescue teams.
The personnel who must have been trapped in the building are still being sought after by the rescue crews.
