Monday morning, there was unrest at the Kuje Correctional Center when prisoners demonstrated against the passing of a fellow inmate.
It was learned that the inmate's death, who apparently did not receive prompt medical assistance, set off the unrest.
Additionally, it was learned that several prisoners made an attempt to flee the jail facility during the tense situation but were stopped by the warders.
Prison officials told our correspondent that the convict had passed away.
A prison employee also informed SaharaReporters said;
"The guy had been sick for weeks, but the situation deteriorated last night and the wardens refused to attend to him until he passed away at 6:28 am this morning.
