Deontay Wilder, an American heavyweight boxer, explained why Anthony Joshua lost his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on Sunday morning.

Joshua, according to Wilder, lost to Usyk because of his lack of confidence during the match with the Ukrainian in Saudi Arabia.

In their rematch last weekend, Usyk prevailed by split decision despite a valiant effort from Joshua.

The undefeated Ukrainian added the Ring Magazine title, vacated by Tyson Fury last week, to his collection in Jeddah after successfully defending the IBF, WBO, and WBA belts he had taken from Joshua in London last September.

However, Wilder has questioned the 32-year-mindset old's and feels that Joshua lacked confidence in the lead-up to the fight with Usyk.

Wilder told ESNews on Wednesday;

“Sometimes you just look at both fighters, and sometimes the eye test will tell it all.

“The body language is telling a story, the way the momentum of a fighter is telling a story, you could look at Usyk and tell how confident he was, how the tables have turned, you could tell he owned it, he feels like who he is.

“With Joshua, you could tell that he wasn’t himself, his usual self of being motivated and secure within himself,”
