Man allegedly raped his friend's neighbor in Ibadan

Musa Salimon, 20, was remanded in the Agodi Correctional facility on Monday by an Iyaganku Magistrates' Court in Ibadan for allegedly raping his friend's neighbor.

The suspect was ordered to be detained in the Agodi Correctional facility in Ibadan after the Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Enilolobo, refused to accept his plea due to a lack of jurisdiction.

Remand is pending the resolution of the case file at the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution, according to Enilolobo (DPP).

She then put the subject on hold until October 18 so it could be discussed.

Olusegun Adegboye, the prosecution's attorney, earlier informed the court that Salimon is accused of having illicit sexual knowledge of one T. Sunday, 18, without her consent on August 6 at around 4:00 p.m. in the Oriyangi neighborhood of Ogbere, Ibadan.

According to Adegboye, the victim lent her neighbor her mobile charger so that she could get it later.

He added:

“When she went to pick the charger, a friend to the victim’s neighbour allegedly raped her,” 

He claimed that the offense violated Section 357 and was punished under Section 358 of the Oyo State Criminal Code Laws of 2000. (NAN)
