The biggest government reorganization since the start of Russia's invasion in February was their removal.
According to Economic Times, Zelensky claimed he fired Bakanov and Venediktova because of the numerous examples of alleged treachery by Ukrainian law enforcement officers in the war-torn nation.
Over 650 incidents of alleged treason and aiding and abetting Russia by Ukrainian security personnel, including 60 instances of personnel who have remained in areas controlled by Russia and are acting against Ukraine, are now being probed, according to Zelensky.
Zelensky Said:
“Today, I made the decision of relieving of their duties the prosecutor general and the head of Ukraine’s security service,”
He went further to say ;
“Such a great number of crimes against the foundations of national security and the connections established between Ukrainian law enforcement officials and Russian special services pose very serious questions to the relevant leaders,”“Each such question will be answered.”
Investigations into alleged crimes carried out by invading Russian soldiers in the town of Bucha outside of Kiev were overseen by Venediktova, who also served as head of Ukraine's probe.
