from Boko Haram are alleged to have killed Undisclosed number of soldiers on Thursday night when they attacked an Army post at Zuma Rock, which separates the FCT from Niger State.
According to sources, at around 8.30 p.m. on the Abuja-Kaduna highway, the terrorists arrived at Zuma Rock on the axis of Madalla and Suleija and ambushed the soldiers by firing from a variety of positions.
A source said;
“They were shooting continuously at the checkpoint for more almost one hour, and soldiers at the checkpoint were fighting back. But after a while, the shooting stopped,”
According to the reports, the terrorists later gave up on their plan to enter Abuja and turned back toward the Kaduna axis.
The terrorists, who were allegedly riding numerous motorbikes, reportedly attacked some communities and stores in Madalla while fleeing, carrying food on their motorbikes.
More soldiers and equipment from the Army base in Zuma Barracks were brought in to help at the spot after the terrorists withdrew.
The Abuja-Kaduna Highway was jammed with traffic as a result of the attack, according to reports.
The attack occurs just six days after terrorists ambushed a presidential guard patrol unit along the Bwari-Kubwa Road, killing six soldiers and officers as a result of information that they were preparing an attack on the Nigerian Law School in Bwari.
