Two arrested for allegedly sharing money to All Progressives Congress, APC, delegates before the governorship primaries
Before the governorship primaries on Thursday night, May 26, two coordinators for an Adamawa governorship candidate were allegedly arrested while distributing money with All Progressives Congress, APC, delegates.
The coordinators were apprehended at 8 p.m., according to a Daily Nigerian story, when a joint team of security operatives assaulted one of the places where the loot sharing was being planned.
Aside from the guys arrested and the money collected, the scene also yielded copies of filled-out commitment forms with the names and addresses of the delegates.
According to a senior police officer who was involved in the operation, agents are on the lookout for delegates who had already filled out the forms and collected the money using the information on the forms.
He added that they were also scouring other areas for vote buying working for all candidates in the primaries.
The two individuals apprehended, as well as the exhibits, were transported to the Adamawa Police CID offices.
Police are also on the lookout for one Bala Jingi, who is allegedly in charge of distributing Keke Napep tricycles to delegates who took an oath to vote for the governorship candidate.
