Police rescued 12 victims of human trafficking in Kaduna



In the state's Daura Local Government Area, the Katsina State Police Command uncovered a human trafficking ring and rescued twelve victims.

SP Gambo Isah, the command's spokesperson, said in a statement on Wednesday, May 4, that the victims were rescued as a result of genuine intelligence.

When the police force assaulted the house where the victims were staying in the village, they were ready to be transferred to the Niger Republic on their way to Libya, according to Isah.

"On 02/05/2022 at about 1230hrs, the Command carried out a sting operation, based on credible intelligence, at a suspected site, in a dwelling house of one Yahaya Dahiru, 'M' of Kalgo village, Daura LGA of Katsina state," he said.

Madinat Adekeje, 'F', 39 years old from Kwara state, Aminat Kazeem, 'F', 25 years old from Oyo state, Orobore Francis, 'M', 21 years old from Edo state, Mike Emuagbon, 'M', 22 years old from Edo state, and Oladoke Uhunoma, 'F', 33 years old from Edo state,Elizabeth Idemudia, 'F', aged 16 years in Edo state, Fatima Ibrahim, 'F', aged 25 years in Osun state, Elizabeth Egbayelo, 'F', aged 32 years in Ondo state, Olawale Oyindamola, 'F', aged 19 years in Ondo state, Victoria Chidi, 'F', aged 14 years in Ondo state, Folashayo Oluwabumi, 'F' age 30 years of Ogun state and Suliyat Omotayo, 'F', aged 25 years of Ogun State are the victims rescued by the police.

"The Command is attempting to apprehend the house's owner, Yahaya Dahiru, 'M', of Kalgo village, Daura, as well as their driver, Mas'udu Dusha, 'M', of Yankara village, Mai'addua.
