The FA has charged Everton manager Frank Lampard for comments made after his team's defeat in the Merseyside derby last month.
Lampard claimed that if Mohamed Salah had gone down like Anthony Gordon in the match against Liverpool, Liverpool would have been granted a penalty kick. Gordon, who had been sent off in the first half at Anfield for diving, was brought down during a challenge with Joel Matip, but referee Stuart Attwell did not award a penalty or issue a second yellow card. 'It's a penalty for me,' Lampard stated in his post-match interview. They aren't available here. If Mo Salah was on the other end, he would be given a penalty. I'm not trying to start a fight; it's just the way football works.
'I've played for teams in the top half of the league, so you know what I'm talking about. That was unquestionably a penalty. It's a blatant violation.'
The Toffees expressed their displeasure with the judgment to the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) for the second time this season.

The FA has reacted angrily to the remarks, claiming that they imply "bias and/or undermining the integrity of the match referee or referees in general."
'Frank Lampard has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 in respect to post-match media statements made following Everton FC's Premier League encounter against Liverpool FC on Sunday 24 April,' according to a statement from the FA.
'It is alleged that the manager's comments are improper because they indicate prejudice, challenge the integrity of the match referee - or referees in general - and/or bring the game into disrepute, all of which are in violation of FA Rule E3.1.
'Frank Lampard has until Monday, May 9th, 2022, to respond.'
