Uche, a 20 years old man has be arrested and detained for allegedly raping a 16 years old girl at Ekwe street miles 3 Diobu, Port harcourt, Rivers State. The arrest was made my the Diobu vigilante group.
The cheif security officer Ihunwo said, that he received a call around 1pm from Ekwe street Diobu Port Harcourt that they saw some group of boys trying to rape a girl. When he reached there with his men they caught one Mr Uche raping a girl of about 16 year. He also made it known that they were three but two escaped on seen his men, Uche was caught because he is already in the process. The Chief security officer had handed the suspect to the police upon arrest.
SP. Nnamdi Omoni, Public Relations Officer of the state police command, who confirmed the incident, stated that Joseph Mukan, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers state had ordered the case should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department for investigation.
