In Gurumana Community of Shiroro Local Goverment Area in Niger State, not more than six people drown while trying to escape from bandits who raid the near by community in the night. On hearing of the attack the Villagers of Gurumana commubity began to flee for their safety, it was on the process that the victims got drowned. The victims used canoe to escape when they met their untimely death as a result of canoe capsized.
Those killed include two women, their two children and two men. Some bodies of the victims have been found while the search for others is still ongoing. (NSEMA) Niger State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident saying that search and rescue operation was ongoing.
